John Brumhead - Longcase Clock
The Brumhead family, father, wife and son ran a successful clock, watch and silversmith business on St. John’s Street. John Brumhead senior died in December 1809 to be succeeded by his wife Mary who carried on the trade in St. John’s Street. In September 1825 her son John Brumhead junior took over from his mother and continued to trade until the late 1840s.
